Houston, we have a newsletter (among other things.) We're also proud to be launching our very first website. So stay tuned, we'll be sending out updates every month!
From the Cluster Chair
Celebrating Our Neighborhood and Our Volunteers
One of the best parts of becoming more involved in New England Woods has been getting to know the people who make this neighborhood such a special place.
Our neighbors bring an extraordinary range of experience, ideas and talents to the community. Some of you lend a hand because you care deeply about our woods and wildlife. Others want to make the neighborhood safer, more welcoming or more resilient. Many of you are coming up with wonderful ideas on how we can improve support for our children, our older neighbors, and our working parents.
Over the past year, it has been such a joy to see so many of you step forward to help with committee work, restoration, emergency preparedness, neighborhood events, and the everyday work of looking after the place we call home.
And the best news is we all don’t have to join a committee or make a huge time commitment to make a difference. Sometimes helping out means spending an hour pulling invasive vines. Sometimes it means reporting a tree or drainage problem, welcoming a new neighbor, helping at an event, or just simply sharing an idea.
If serving as a member of your cluster committee has taught me anything, it’s that strong communities are built by people who decide that caring about a place also means caring for one another. We have a wonderful group of neighbors doing exactly that. And there is plenty of room for more 😁
Huge, humble thanks to everyone who has pitched in.
Quarterly Cluster Meeting
Our next quarterly Cluster meeting is scheduled for Thur, Oct 29 at 6pm via Zoom and will include 2027 budget planning, plus several important decisions affecting the neighborhood. Join us!

2nd Annual New England Woods Veterans Day Ruck Walk
Wednesday, November 11 | 5:00 PM |Potluck gathering immediately following
Last Veterans Day, neighbors came together for our first New England Woods Ruck Walk to honor the veterans and military families in our community. We had such a wonderful response that we just had to make it a tradition.
A “ruck” simply means walking while carrying a backpack, a tradition with strong military roots. But this is not a race, endurance challenge or test of how much weight you can carry. Bring a backpack if you’d like, carry a little weight or none at all, or simply come walk with your neighbors.
Walk. Ruck. Bring the kids. Push a stroller. Bring the dog. Or just come cheer everyone on.
More details, including the route, potluck sign up and volunteer opportunities, will be shared soon.
